The Model 4000 allows for the flexibility of mobile passenger
trash collection. The system features a removable trolley
that may be moved into the passenger cabin down the aisles
during the collection process.
Trash items can be handled one time at the point of collection
from the passenger and disposed of in a top-loading trolley.
The trolley is compartmentalized with three bins and allows
for inflight separation of trash items if required by
an airline for later ground recycling.
The trolley may be utilized as a drawer in
the galley environment, where it is pulled slightly or
entirely out of the compaction stand (that remains in
the galley compartment at all times), trash is top-loaded,
and is then inserted back into the compactor for processing.
This model compactor and collection system is only recommended
for those airlines who allow and benefit from mobile passenger
trash collection and/or are presently involved with recycling
programs.
It also should be noted that this model system necessitates
having rotable bin and/or trolley equipment at base and
line stations to support on-board installations. In other
words, the Model 4000s containment equipment (i.e.,
bins and trolleys) are considered rotables and need to
be emptied and cleaned by Ground Services. Whereas the
Model 3210 utilizes a disposable trash box.
Model 4000/4010 allows inflight
mobile (cabin aisles) waste collection and
separation of recyclable fractions such as
plastics, paper,
aluminum.
